Gary’s Garden

I’ve lived here in Aubries nearly 9 years now. Both my front and rear garden have a wildflower meadow mix added to the original rough lawn which is gradually progressing with careful management. There is an existing buddleia in the back garden, I’ve pruned and restored it as best as I can. I plan to add a hazel rown and guelder rose soon. I’ve recently installed a bird box. In the front garden I’ve installed a bat box and 2 bug hotels. There’s an established honeysuckle as well, good for moths, and have planted a self seeded buddleia from the back. There’s now a log habitat pile. Each year now I see end of summer humming bird hawk moths feeding on my buddleia and red valerian had a jersey tiger moth present last summer. Finally, I’m hoping to install a wildlife pond in the centre of my front garden.
