If you’re interested in beekeeping or simply curious about the craft, the North Herts Beekeepers Association (NHBKA) is a fantastic place to start. Their division covers a wide area—from the borders of Luton across to the Essex border, and from Knebworth & Kimpton up to Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire. They are part of the Hertfordshire Beekeepers Association and full members of the British Beekeepers Association.
At NHBKA, members benefit from:
- Access to centuries of combined beekeeping knowledge and experience
- Opportunities to keep hives at association apiaries
- Public liability insurance and disease insurance for bees through BBKA affiliation
- A mentoring scheme for new beekeepers
- Hands‑on experience with protective beesuits available for newcomers
- Attendance at shows and events across the county
If you’re curious, want to learn more, or would like to attend a meeting, the association welcomes visitors warmly.
